We (Norm & Gwen) live on Vancouver's North Shore, in a river valley on the edge of the mountain rainforest. The land provides shade and partial shade with only a bit of filtered sun. Challenging place to grow but we love it.

We are trying to develop a decent collection of small Japanese maples. We have many of the common cultivars and now look for unique varieties. They are hard to find in western Canada so we need to learn the drills involved in importing trees.
