    Hi,

Does anyone have a photo or three of flowers on the maple usually sold as A. japonicum 'Lovett'?

It's also sometimes sold under A. sieboldianum, although the oldest reference is that of a japonicum.

For a while people were selling it as shirasawanum.

Of course, probably a hybrid, but it looks more like a sieboldianum because of the pubescence on the shoots. Although the petioles of japonicum are pubescent, the shoots are glabrous or mostly glabrous (no hairs).

The flowers would be helpful, as japonicum's are much more distinctive red, and larger, whereas sieboldianum has green/yellow petals, lighter red sepals, and smaller flowers generally.

Any help with Lovett would be appreciated.
