Could be better D. This Summer has taken it's toll rather badly on my maples I'm afraid. Brown crispy leaves everywhere. Think I'm going to have a lot of fatalities. But compared to the energy and cost of living crisis, it's nothing really.
I hear ya D. Things are pretty rough everywhere seems like. I hope there arent many fatalities. I've had a few myself. I'm really impressed with a lot of mine. I'm trying to keep them as happy as possible. Praying I get ok fall color.
Kuro Hime was dug up and moved to new location this spring, looks like it took the transplant well. Very cool little tree, I think it looks better here for color than the more open sunny area. The more sun you give the more muddy red it looks. I like it more shaded for color since you get more color gradients. I think it's worth investing in finding, very vigorous too. A Mr. Maple score!
