And it gets better and better every year Xi. You have a very healthy looking specimen there.
Moved Olsen's Frosted Strawberry (up top) and Uncle Ghost (below) into a bit more sun in the hopes of getting some colour, though I'll keep a close eye on them. Interesting to see the similarities at this time of year:
This cultivar became one of the favourites on the forum in 2020 and I think looking at yours Xi, it's going to be close contender this year.
2nd July 2021 and the second flush begins on my Uncle ghost, alongside some eaten edges to a few lobes this year.
More hot pink growth from these two -- Olsen's Frosted Strawberry above, Uncle Ghost below:
Love that combo Xi.
7th July 2021 and everything is so wet this year. But my maples are very happy. Here is my Uncle ghost putting out new leaves.
Uncle Ghost doing well in terms of new growth;
10th July 2021 and I thought I would go out and look for some new growth on my Unlce ghost to join in with Xi @Xi-feng.
I found some, but it was very wet !! Lol.
If it's Uncle Ghost new growth day, I'm in.
Lol... Brilliant N.
Oh, these are fun! Isn't this a great little tree? I cannot understand why it doesn't seem to be more popular!
I couldn't agree more.
19th July 2021 and new growth during a mini heat wave is wonderful to see. But not sure the delicate leaves will like it, but we will see...
Uncle Ghost with a hot pink top:
13th April 2022 and the start of my Uncle Ghost for another season.
Seems I'm ahead by a leaf again D.
Love the shape and subtle colours of this one.
More than a leaf N Lol
30th April 2022 and my Uncle Ghost is now catching up with the rest on the forum at last.
Uncle Ghost is qiute pale this year:
That's more June colours Xi. I think your weather there in London has been a lot warmer this year ?? My micro climate is just cold cold cold. Lol
Hmm, I wouldn't say it's been particularly warm - just a few weeks ago we were still having those overnight frosts here in London too... I think it's more likely the tree is just showing off, haha.
Uncle Ghost remains pale but is putting out some new growth:
I have found this over the years Xi, one year colour, the next growth. But whichever year it is, Uncle Ghost still looks good.
2nd May 2022 and some nice contrasts for my Uncle Ghost with Hosta White feather.
