The mature Copper Beech tree in my back yard produces thousands of seed pods. Is there a use for the seed pods? I know animals like the seeds, but I hate the prickly pods.
I'd guess some decomposers in the environment like them, but I don't know of any human uses (other than art, perhaps).
Doesn't say anything about the cupule husks, unfortunately! The only use I've heard of them is for natural material based artworks, small models and suchlike. Otherwise, compost them. But it seems you could get a good price for them!! Just undercut this (I reckon grossly, grossly, overpiced :-)) example slightly — https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/159...3312&msclkid=ac89c5bb20a010832ad0a2baaecdd48d Not sure if this is a price for 150 husks, or per husk, the wording isn't clear. But if it is for 150, that's a more reasonable price to ask: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/15591339...85169654799843&abcId=9300541&merchantid=87779
Thank you for your response. I'm not a crafter and most of what I've collected so far has gone into my green bin for city pickup. Oh well, I thought I'd ask.
