Hi, I am new so hope that I make some sense! I have an "unidentified" bamboo plant in a large container on my patio. I had it in direct sun 2 summers ago and it seemed to suffer, the leaves looked a little anemic and browned on the ends. Last summer I moved it to a shady location under my grape arbour but it still doesn't seem to be happy. It is a large frond variety and my friend who gave it to me has the same type of plant, in a container and her plant has dark foliage and is growing well. Fertilize? Move back to sunny location? Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Maybe a repot with new soil and a good watering. I have a common non clumping one in a pot that is too small for it in hot sun (often 30+C) and it gets upset with me when I forget to water it properly. Mine is also looking yellow and I am sure the cure is some new soil and a bigger pot. The clump I have in an old wash trough is very happy after a soil upgrade. It is in semi shade and watered once a week.
