At the [edited] southwest corner of Nelson & Grange street, you can see a huge green tree fence. There are more than 10 Shirotae mixed with 2 Shogetsu. Now , Shogetsu are in bloom and Shirotae are almost fade out. Photos taken by Sunny Chen.

Good morning Janice, can I ask who maintains the trees in your photos? As they seem to be in peoples private gardens. Or is it the local authority/Council? It looks a lovely street to live in.
Those are street trees, in the side walks, maintained by the city. We have lots of beautiful street trees , not only cherry blossom.
Thanks for that information Janice, I did wonder about the lovely tree lined streets and whether residents had to maintain them outside their own properties. What a wonderful place you all live, especially in Spring. You can also see that people are very proud of where they live. Have a great day.
People would not notice the Birch Bark Cherry blossoms in the previous year, I thought, because it came out mostly after all the cherry blossom finished, and the flowers are tiny and not attractive. Usually, people don't think it is the cherry blossom. This year, it came out earlier, just starting to bloom. You can see nine young Birch Bark Cherry on 6677 Southoaks Cresent. Two places are full of Shiro-fugen : the first and the second photos are at Alpha Dr. from Kitchener to Napier Burnaby and the rest of them are at Sumas street ,from Fell to Kensington.
Really interesting - these are obviously street trees, planted by the city, but on the property side of the sidewalk, where they won't get pruned by trucks. Vancouver has a few streets that don't have boulevards, where the city plants trees on the property, even new ones.
Steven Huang put a marker on the map for a nice-looking 'Kanzan' in the 7000 block of Salisbury. I forgot to ask if this is his tree. He has sent photos.
Sunny went back to visit this pink perfection today and saw some of the flowers coming up with the bright pink second storey in the center.
Sunny visited this Ichihara-t0ra-no-o again after one week later. It seems the weather was cooler this week and kept the flowers of Ichihara-t0ra-no-o changed not much.

A group of Shiro-fugen , around 20, located in SFU Academic Quadrangle , close to Trottier conservatory, are starting to bloom , at 20%-30% stage. Photos were taken by Sunny Chen on 4/28. There are another group of pink perfection nearby , but were fenced. It started to rain , so Sunny didn't go to check. Will be back later.
Hi, This is my first post but my hubby and I have been cherry scouts for 7 years now (he is the one who usually did the postings). We came across this cherry at Imperial Street near Walker. We suspect that it is a Shogetsu (the whitish-pink flower tree behind the fenc) but unfortunately I couldn't take a closer photo because it is found inside a walled home. What do you think this is? Shogetsu is our bet.
