I am sure it is Yae-Beni-Shidare even it is not open yet, actually because it is not open yet at the corner of Stride Ave & Britton St.
Great discovery today, a place I've never been. This is where Kincaid St runs parallel to Kincaid St (yes, it does) at MacDonald, across the street from the south side of Burnaby Hospital. I don't know what that greenway is. A few trees are on the greenway, and then the Kincaid St with houses has mature 'Akebono' the whole length of the long block.
'Accolade' in peak bloom today at northwest corner of Halifax and Moore. Quite a bit later than 2015.
Beautiful 'Akebono' on both sides of Charles from Dunlop to Fell, in full bloom. Drove out there today with my neighbour from the west end. Worth the trip. Good photo ops. Should be a festival favourite.
Beautiful Accolade at Royal Oak Ave near Sanders St. 5 mature beautiful cherries (4 Akebono + 1Schmitt) on Sanders St & Royal Oak Ave.
Nadia posted photos from Southoaks Crescent. At the west end is a cul de sac with 'Akebono' all the way around, and a little walkway from that leads to another cul de sac with 'Akebono' all the way around, at the east end of Arbroath, accessible from Gilley. Here is a photo from Southoaks Crescent, three days later than Nadia's.
This 'Yae-beni-shidare' at Joffre and Dubois was photographed on April 9. It should be in full bloom now.
Nice street of 'Akebono' on 18th Avenue east from Griffiths, with two more on Griffiths. On Beresford east of Gilley, a small attractive group of 'Akebono'.
Not large 'Akebono' on Mary at Holly (or possibly Holly at Mary), both sides of the street. Several larger 'Akebono' on Rosewood at Mary, possibly all belonging to the New Vista Society. The nicer ones are on the NW side of the street. Salisbury at Edmonds is a street of 'Akebono' with one not too healthy 'Afterglow'. Ulster at Canada Way is also a street of 'Akebono' with one scrubby 'Afterglow' that looks like it has suffered from rootstock growth and from lawn mower damage.
Line of young Akebono along property of Burnaby Lakeview Elementary on Mayfield St. Along Mayfield St. soon would be in bloom Kanzan
