I've just purchased a 1 Gal. plant and wonder if it will do well grown as a container plant. If so, what size container should I start with? What size container ultimately?
    Thanks for any advice.

Grown in containers commercially. Size of pot determined by size of individual specimen. Move to next size up that seems appropriate. With nursery stock in general there is a tendency in production operations to move from a one gallon to a five gallon, but some intermediate sizes are still produced.

To get it to specimen size, I would suggest a 4x4x4 foot planter.

Thanks Debra, that's exactly what I wanted to know - it will fit perfectly in the spot I have in mind. Any idea how long it will take to reach specimen size?
    Thanks.

Gabriola Island? I would say no more than 2-3 years. These grasses attain spec size very quickly. Good Luck and nice choice for a container!
