i had got some seed pod things from this plant and the seeds sprouted and made this the seed pods were a red fruit that spit into 3 seeds
I had a jatropha with leaves exactly like that. It had a raceme of coral red flowers, but I never saw it fruit. I can't find the specific jatropha with a quick google search so I am not certain, but it sure looks like my old jatropha. Tropical and poisonous, if you didn't know.
A little more searching and I'm pretty sure you have Jatropha multifida. Some of the online examples do not have the leaves as finely dissected and narrow as yours and mine, but you'll find pics of it that look identical, too.
what a cool plant!! any chance of getting a couple seeds?? i could send postage or something in exchange.
i planted all the seeds i had i can try and get more i'm not sure wen it flowers I really appreciate the help no one could tell me when the plant was
King, if I remember correctly, my jatropha came from a yard sale in the greater Orlando area. After a year or so I put it in the ground where it lived for another year until a hard freeze killed it. The leaves turned yellow when the cooler weather came.
i'll make sure to protect them if it ever freezes here most of the time it doesn't freeze to bad here I'll try and see if the plant i got these seed from still had any seed on or around it if i got get them seed i'd be happy to send some to you
