    Hi all,

anybody have an idea what this weed is called? It has completely taken over a ditch that stays stays full of water. It appears as if the weed is even floating in some places. Could be invasive seeing as it is outcompeting all other vegetation. It appears to be green year round as the photos were taken in November and it is still green and thriving today. Also it is not very clear in the photos but it has runners at a lot of the nodes. Any guesses?

P.S. sorry for the poor photos was taken in a rush as it is on the side of a road

Thank you everybody for the replies!

Sulev, it appears you are correct! It is Nasturtium officinale as the foliage and runners look identical and it is growing in running water. To further confirm your guess, I saw a guy harvesting it quite awhile ago.

I am excited to see it flower come spring/summer.
