Hello. My saguaro cactus that I love very much appears to be dying. He used to be green and round and now he is nearly black and much narrower. I depotted him to examine his roots but I'm not sure if I need to cut any of them. Please advise. I have attached many pictures. Please give any tips you have for how to save him!!! Thanks very much, Eily
There is nothing obviously wrong with the roots, but I recognise the symptoms and I have never seen a plant survive them. So, I think your cactus is gone. The problem is probably inside the plant body, not the roots. I think the root system is very small, where there more roots that got lost when you removed the soil?
