Hi- I saw these beautiful ferns planted at a park in Seattle en masse and they looked amazing. they were in full sun. does anyone know this fern? Thank You!!!
It's a little late, but I came across this while looking up a fern I'm trying to identify, and it helps to have names on ones that are posted. Is this a Dryopteris?
I don't know if this can be verified, as it's an old post, but it looks like the Polystichum polyblepharum that grows at the UBCBG.
Oh, you mean one I photographed and posted, and on another posting named as a possible ID? Not that I would remember two years later, but still, it doesn't do anything for my ferns-are-too-hard-to-identify attitude. Maybe a little reading will help - I'm adding a few links for my own benefit: Native ferns in Stanley Park: Fern Identification 101 — The Stanley Park Project - Open Learning in the Urban Forest Native New England ferns (nice display of photos on one page): Ferns: Simple Key: Go Botany Ferns in Ohio (wonderful photos and explanations of distinguishing characteristics) Basic Fern Identification | TrekOhio US Forest Service pages on Fern Structure Fern Structure, includes a page on resources: More Information The Hardy Fern Foundation has a page on Genus Characteristics, a few sentences about each: Genus Characteristics Thanks for the reply, Eric.
