    Hi All,
Yeasterday was the day. I did my first graft this season. The whole month of August will be grafting time and I am looking forward to it. (while my frozen seeds wait to germinate).
Here is what I did and do now: Last year I collected some scions baged them in plastic bags and put them in the fridge just before the buds swell. I was told that the understock has to swell and the scion has to be dormant to have success. At the end of the grafting month I had no more graftings take that way then doing it when scion and understock buds all started to swell.
So this year I look around for scions which starting to swell and graft them straight away to the understock. I keep you informed of the success. My first graft was a Toyama Nishiki. Keep your fingers crossed.
    Wolfgang
