grafting paste

    Hi does anyone has any experience in japanese grafting paste.
    I have the paste but I do not know if it makes any difference in grafting maples.

    No experience with japanese grafting paste as such but have used a wax and Doc Farwell's before. The wax didnt work well because it was hard to melt to a usable consistency and didnt 'harden off' enough when used on grafts at least in the heat of the southeast for summer grafting. The Doc Farwell's works very well. Cheap, easy to apply, dries quickly and easy to remove. The only problem is you have to be careful and not allow it (Doc Farwell's) to dry out between uses. Hope this helps.

    I use a product called Parafilm. Its not a liquid - its a wax tape that does the same job but is a lot less messy. It stretches to about 4 times its size, and feels just like parafin wax. Its really cool. Does beautifully. No issues with it drying out.
