I was hoping that someone would know of a good source for high quality granite rock for my planned japanese garden. Location is Vancouver BC. Any assistance would be most appreciated.

If you haven't yet found your rocks, how about a drive up past Horseshoe Bay and Lions Bay. All that roadbuilding and blasting must have yielded something.
I think Lawn Boy or Lawnboy Landscaping has granite. They are at the bottom of Cambie, about a half a block north of Kent (could never find them in any directory so can't pass on the phone # unfortunately). They have aggregate, compost, soil etc. you can purchase by the garbage bag full or yard. I like the sea to sky scavanging idea though....
Blasted rocks are a little too harsh in my opinion. I use them for retaining walls, but for a landscape project, there are much nicer weathered options. ;)
