Hello fellow addicts, just found this site whilst looking up callistemon (bottle brush) its advertised locally as drought tolerant & deer proof, both of which are added bonuses in my neck of the woods. TTFN, Chris A
Welcome to the Forums Chris A. Drought tolerant plants are a good choice in your location. Callistemon are beautiful flowers, I enjoyed seeing them in their native Australian habitat. I would have thought that hardiness would be a problem but apparently there are several varieties that do well in our climate. A quick search yielded these two good pages on callistemon: http://farrer.riv.csu.edu.au/ASGAP/callistn.html http://www.rhs.org.uk/Learning/publications/pubs/garden0105/callistemon.asp Let us know how it goes if you put in some callistemons.
