Hi ! Does anyone have experience with container-growing acer palmatum in hydroculture or in an hydroponic system (Heydite, clay pellets, Perlite, vermiculite, Seramis®,…) Such a growing media seems to meet all necessary requirements for acer palmatum: it provides good drainage, it holds air and moisture, it is light and loose enough for the fibrous roots,… Are there any objections or disadvantages I did not consider ? Maybe the protection against freezing is not as good as with ordinary soil ? Thank you in advance, Andreas
