Here's another story of interspecies friendship. In 2004, Owen, a young Nile hippo, was found stranded by a tsunami. He was given a home at Haller Park in Kenya. There he met Mzee, an elderly Albabran tortoise. The two became fast friends. Much info available: they have their own web site and book.
