I have a grape vine that is aprox 2 1/2 inches thick at the base and is about 15 feet long (2 things coming from the base) New shoots are growing off about the first 7feet. Should i cut the main part that the shoots are not growing from. (main old wood i believe...) I just bought my property 2 years ago and last year the grape vine was unbelievable but i hired a landscaper and she hacked it up really bad , she cut off one main cane ( i think thats the right word)( i was choked) anyway if anyone can tell me how i can get this beautiful fruit bering vine back to its original condition i would greatly appreciate it. and how to look after it in the winter, someone told me to bury it ...is that true and should i cut the main stem back as no shoots are growing from it...
