How is your Tsuma Gaki faring

    As we approach the end of August I thought it would be interesting to see how you were getting on with this cultivar..The short bursts of hot weather here in the UK rather than prolonged periods of baking sun has helped a bit. My Tsuma Gaki only gets about 2hours of direct sun each day…yet it still resembles a JM in October!

    I think Tsuma Gaki is one of the most difficult maple to keep healthy until autumn, at least here.
    This year, I confess I used a chemical treatment after budbreak, just once, and it's not perfect but it looks much better at this time of the year.

    Your TG always seems to be a deeper green than mine, mine always leafs out a pale yellow/green..mine gets only an hour or two sun too. Both appear to suffer with spotting later in the summer - tbh I think it’s probably impossible to avoid it
