I totalled up the whole lot and it in the region of £7500. I could drop that significantly if someone wanted to come with a van, take the lot and either start their own collection, add to an existing collection or even sell them on and make some money out of it.

Ok see here’s where I’m at. It turns out after I fled a 13 year abusive marriage, and into the lodgings of a psychologically damaged alcoholic landlady, which of course I didn’t know at the time. I decided I had to keep myself safe, especially after being diagnosed with PTSD and acute anxiety. I promptly moved out after threats of violence while drunk. I got recommended another room by a friend not too far away. When asked why I had moved out I told my story. Well it turns out that not only do these two ladies know each other but are friends. So one talks to the other and they both turn on me. I’ve been given a week to move out of my current house and two weeks to get rid of the trees or they are being taken to the dump. I need help from this friendly community now more than ever. If anybody has access to a van and space to accommodate them, they could either buy them for a very reasonable price or store them until I’m back on my feet. Kind regards Luke
Hi Luke, I'm at a loss at what to say or suggest. But initially do make sure you remove the 10 maples you have already sold, so that people are aware of what you have left to sell. I don't have any room left at all and that is no exaggeration, but I will take my phone to my friends and show them your lists and see if they want any. I’d let any of them go for half price. It’s very difficult to do an inventory as my landlady has squashed them all into her front garden. It’s a Japanese maples enthusiasts heaven but I just can’t get in there enough to do separate photos etc. I really hope someone can help. The current value of the entire collection is approx £6-6.5k. If someone was able to accommodate them and care for them until I have my own place would be the ideal outcome. Failing that I will let them go as a job lot for £3k. Please spread the word on any social media platforms possible. Give my number to people. I’m literally crying as I write this. How am I supposed to seek over one hundred Japanese maples in 2 weeks. I feel sick. Sorry for pouring my heart out on this incredible, happy and positive forum. That shows how much I need your help. kind regards Luke

All done! I would like to say from the bottom of my heart that I am forever grateful for the support I have received from you all on this very special forum. I would like to announce that I have sold/taken care of all my Japanese Maples. It’s been heartbreaking, but at the same time I know each and every one of them has gone to a good home with grateful enthusiasts. Bitter sweet I suppose you could say. Im not on any other forum, nor am I using any social media platforms. And so I ask for one final favour. To those that were able to spread the word that there was a collection for sale, could you find it in your heart to make some time and repost that this is no longer the case. I have kept 25 of my favourites that will move with me when I move into my new ‘shared’ house on 2nd August. So this isn’t farewell forever, but I have a lot I need to sort out in my life before I can enjoy walking amongst and taking and sharing pictures with you all. As big Arnie would say.. “I’ll be back!” ;-)
