I finally got around to pruning our bloodgood this morning. I did film it and although I thought it was going to be a very long project, I did it with three main strategic cuts. It has been growing between two very large canadian maples and a walnut tree that we planted back in 1992. It gets virtually no sun now, although it does retain its deep red foliage (thankfully). I have never pruned it since transplanting it from its container back in 1992. The top branches have been reaching for the sun for a few years now.
