I finished planting 12 japanese and american acer rubrum maples. I think/hope I did a good job with the inspection of the roots, intervention in the rootball, cutting circling roots, etc. I now feel I want more detailed info on both pruning, since I plan to work on my other maples this coming year, as well as rootpruning, since I have maples in containers, on root development in general. Are there any good books you'd recommend? i read Whitcomb's book on landscape trees, and thought it was pretty fascinating in terms of examining current gardening practices. Any similar books that are up to date? Thank you.
