    I'm an undergraduate student,
    Working on my project,
I need help with identification of the lichen sample that I collected from my backyard.
If anyone could help, it would be of great help.

Hi Sneha - is the lichen in India and if so what region, what kind of tree and are you in an urban or rural area?

Although it generally looks like a dust lichen e. g. Lepraria so. you will need to look close up with a magnifier or handlens to confirm that there is no structure.

If the orange apothecia are involved then the main thallus would not be Lepraria. However the apothecia may be part of a different species on your tree.
