We bought a house that had an established grape vine on an arbour. It had red and green grapes and a wisteria on the other side. It had never been pruned Or cared for and the arbour was rotten. We ripped it down and cut the grapes down to 1 foot stump. I wanted to keep it because it had a red grape that was nice and sweet but the green was not. My boyfriend wants to completely rip out the stump and pave over. I love the red grapes so I am looking for some that are sweet easy to maintain and establish and not too invasive. Any recommendations on varieties? And when can I plant and expect fruit? Thank you sorry for being long winded
I really like the Jupiter grape. Disease resistant, quite vigorous, and produces a lot. Very sweet with great taste. Here are some of our notes on Jupiter grapes: Jupiter Grape | Aprici Jupiter Grape Harvest | Aprici
Thank you! After reading up on them they sound like what I am looking for! Any ideas for a place to buy a decent sized plant?
Sorry, am on the island so not really sure about what is in the Vancouver area as I don't go there much at all. I would suggest calling a few of the larger plant nurseries near you and asking if they have them or can get them...
