Last year I noticed my lupins looked like the tops were stripped of seed pods.

This year I noticed last years lupins have reached full maturity or almost so. (At least the ones that survived an invasion of Bachelor Buttons.)

It will be interesting to see if seed pods reach all the way to the top.

I have a theory that during the first or second years of growth the plant starts off late to reach a full mature state. Only reaching full growth too late to be pollinated.

This year, lots of bees and humming birds around doing their thing.

The seedlings I planted this year will get larger but I don't expect they will amount to much till the next two seasons.

I could be wrong but that's my theory.
