My cactus live outside and some of them have started to go mouldy and one is changing colour to mostly yellow. The ones that are going mouldy were new last year, my original ones are living happily. Any one any bright ideas please

If you can do it without damaging the plants too much, cut off the mold with a very sharp, sterilized knife, then dust the cut areas with powdered cinnamon. The ones that are going yellow might be beyond saving, but the ones with just a bit of mold will be OK. If you don't want to cut them, try spraying them with a 5% solution of Copper (II) Sulfate (should be available at your local chemist's).

thank you for your reply, I will do the cinnamon trick. Here in Turkey it is virtually impossible to get anything chemical based unless it is absolutely guaranteed to kill everything in sight.
