I live in Comox where my garden is continuing to evolve. I have a greenhouse which enables me to winter over many tender plants as well as start many of my own seedlings. I'm interested in anything that grows. I'm uncertain about the pruning of my rose"westerland". It is planted about 3 feet away from the house wall. It is about 4 years old. It has grown very tall, about 7 ft. even though I pruned it back last year in the spring and the fall. The lateral and sublaterals are also mostly at the top even though I had cut back the 4 main canes lower down.
    Any Ideas?

Hello GardeningConnie, Welcome to the Forums. I do not know enough about pruning roses to respond to your question. If you do not get a reply on that here, be sure to check out the Rose Forum for pruning conversation. I bet you have quite a beautiful flower show in your country style cottage garden based on your reply to Lynne in the Introductions Forum.
    Happy gardening!
