    The common name for this plant is "Pregnant onion" for the reason you can see in the caudex pic! This one has a below-ground offset and the "pregnancy" on the side. These are quite easily propagated but in my experience if the side bulbs are picked too soon they can take up to 6 months to show growth. I wait until they show a leaf while they are still attached to the parent plant before removal. The biggest problem I have with the plant is browning of the leaf tips. This plant regularly blooms 2-3 times a year.
