YES I GUESS I DID NOT KNOW HOW TO SPELL IT , IN THE CENTER IT DRIES ALL UP AND I DON`T KNOW IF YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO TRIM IT OR WHAT?
yup, trim out the dead stuff and allow the new shoots to emerge. its a fairly tough plant, it will grow quickly when it gets the right weather.
Wear gloves, long sleeves and goggles-maybe even a helmet with a face shield. Leaf edges cut like razors.
I see you have posted on a new thread. Here is what I do with my one Pampas grass. I trim it down in spring - with all the leaf blades to less than a foot. Or as short as possible. I apply a general garden fertiliser immediately after this hair cut. I use whatever is cheap and available at that time. I won't use anything that's fancy or expensive. I don't spend any extra efforts watering it. It seems pretty drought tolerant. In fact, apart from the spring hair trim and the fertilising, I virtually leave it alone. (But you must remember that I garden in the Pacific NorthWet.)
