I have taken a stem cutting of an Aloe Vera and currently am letting it dry. I would like to plant it into hydroculture, but am unsure if it will root. Can I put it directly into the clay pellets to root it or does it have to be rooted in soil?

    Re: Rotting an Aloe Vera

Your best success will be to root it in a fast draining potting soil such as a commercial cactus mix. I think an attempt at hydroculture will result in the rotting you alude to in your subject line.
