Only in Year 2 in JM but I've come to a single observation.......in my JM acquisitions. I only want a single leader in any format. Whether it be a 1/2/3 G of cultivars I get mail order or 5/7G at the local yard.

Mainly as whatever the leader height is, I can always top it at whatever desired WYE I want to start. Whether it be letting it grow or topping the leader shorter.

Was looking at one cultivar at the local nursery yard . One in 5G and same in 15 Box. Price aside, the 15 Box was the one I would have wanted mainly due to single leader vs the 5G which the leader was topped around 24-28" or so with a WYE off of it and 2 other side branching below the WYE growing.

JM noob here. Am I approaching the POV correct or it really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things once it all leafs out...

I will say the look of multi leaders JMs look the best to me. My main issue is just having the plant ---topped- too low of a height and then having the framework of the -topped- plant

When I got into JM growing, the 1st 4 trees I made the mistake of ordering/taking delivery of topped leaders with Wyes......there were larger G's .

Autumn Moon ,Dancing Peacock, Mila , Summer Gold

Two of them have a single WYE and the the other two trees has 2 leaders and 2 WYES. One topped at 12", another at 18" and two topped at 30" mark Subsequently, it was on my radar when ordering JM to be specific on the details.

It wasn't on my radar on asking if it will be shipped with topped leaders....and this was from the same crazy comnsumer/ grower when at the nursery generally on hands and knees looking upside down a tree to see branching since it's in full leaf
