OKagami is a beautiful tree. Mine was in a pot for years and then a bigger and bigger pot and trained up a stake. It’s planted now and quite a size.

Yes, but I’m just waiting for the roottball to fill out the new pot I put it in last year. I will be very selective though as I don’t particularly like dissectums on high grafts. I had an Orangeola that was like that and just looked a bit umbrella like. I like to see twisty, gnarly branches. I think the add endless character to dissectums. Don’t get me wrong, there are some beautiful specimens out there that have high grafts, and after many years have grown down with a very pretty weeping habit. Charlie Morgan had an Orangeola in his yard that had been high grafted, but it was old enough to reach the floor and beyond. The trunk calliper was as thick as your leg. It was awesome. Most of mine are very young and so trying to experiment with truck shapes, pruning, height, width etc. I’m sure my grandchildren will see the benefit in 50-60 years lol.
I'm with you on experimenting Luke, that is why so many of us have the same trees, but they are all very unique in shape to us. That's the added fun to this great hobby. I did remember Charlie's Orangeola, it was awesome. I haven't seen it for a while, so he probably sold it. Can you imagine the price!!? Second mortgage time I would think, Lol.

I’m off work after back surgery so have plenty of time on my hands. I just can’t dig a hole, lift a pot or bend at the moment so can’t tend to my maples as I’d like.
I know how it feels : two lombar discal hernia. 30 years ago, during a removal, at the end of the day we moved a piano upstairs, then I heard "CLACK"... Of course, I didn't go and see a chiropractor or even my doctor. Typically male attitude. It was more or less OK, but didn't treally heal. And now osteoarthritis for the past ten years, not to mention the first symptoms of arthritis in my fingers. Anyway, I've always been a lousy guitar player... ^_^ I must accept that I belong to the generation of the "tamalous" (t'as mal où, where does it hurt?).
I’ve got 35cm of soft new growth on many branches of my Aconitifolium..I was amazed with all the cold weather here! Also a photo of those whacky pale leaves you get on this cultivar!
I think it’s a male thing, just carry on and smile, it doesn’t really hurt and hope it goes away. Been suffering to some degree for 10 years, always felt fit and healthy and indestructible, laying paths, patios, never scared to lift anything and just ignore back pain. Had a herniated disk, a disk that had 3 separated fragments impacting on my spinal cord and had to have bone removed with decompression surgery, and until the scans was just told it’s muscular. Hopefully on the mend now and I’m going to Lear and remember to lift safely and that I’m getting older, lol
