Well we have sun here in Vancouver BC Canada for maybe a minute… Our weather has been like November it sucks.. but the sun has been out for about 20 min and we might get 20 more if we are lucky.. Most of the trees seem a little weathered trying to keep up to the cool wet and windy conditions. I’m still stuck home with breathing complications and haven’t been able to be in the yard for a bit, but today I mustered up the energy with the sun out so snapped a few and wanted to share. Hope you all enjoy them as much as I’m enjoying the beauty of all your yards. Moonrise Orion Tsuma Gaki Shu Shidare (the background needs to be redone to let this beauty show off) The colours of this tree are just incredible to me. Crimson Queen Orangeola is truly spectacular
I still find it amazing that just a few showers of rain and the weeds go mad. Lol. So whilst pulling up the little darlings this morning, I took these to share. 'Rainbow' and 'Tsuma gaki' (the white dots on the ground is not gravel, they're the faded flowers of the Wisteria) : A small, and a bigger one 'Gwen's Rose Delight'. The small one, that gets more sun) still retains some pink, on the bigger one the pink has turned to lime green.
Just noticed the amount of seeds on my Linearilobum, never seen so many before, almost more seed than leaf. Last year it was bare. If they're still there in autumn I may have to have a go at germination.
Wow! Can I place an order for half a dozen ? ;-) Not many seeds on my maples this year. Even the big palmatum has none (zero!) for the first time in years. On those that had many flowers, most of the samaras aborted. I think it's because of the weather, we had some mild, but late frost when the trees had already leafed out...
