Tiny red brown bettles in my indoor compost

I recently started my own indoor compost. I received some red worms and dirt from someone else and put them into a new container. I was observing the dirt and I realized that there are tons of tiny red brown beetles in the dirt. They are way to small to take a picture.

My questions were.

Are they harmful?

How do I get rid of them naturally?

 

From my composting experience, I suspect that you have mites, not beetles. Have a look at this site for info on worms and mites.
