I can't see the good in this news. If you ever visited Finland, then you know, that this is a very wet country already.
Tanks, if they ever come (I am sure, that there will be no Russian tanks in Finland for at least nearest 20 years), use roads. Local people need roads every day, so you can't turn roads to wetlands.

They try to "restore" Pääsküla bog, that is between my home and one of the nearest grocery stores to me. There are several boardwalks in this bog, so it was a nice walk to the shop and back over the bog. After they closed ditches there, to "restore" the bog, the water level rose so high, that the road was under half meter deep water. They wasted a lot of money, and put pontoons under the boardwalk, but now you never know if the end of the boardwalk is where it used to be, or it is blown away by the wind, and you have to wade through knee-deep water for several dozen meters. Trees are already die there en mass. This road is not inviting any more, nice nature has been turned into stinky mud hole.

Interesting perspective. Is this the general consensus of the local populace?

I haven't made a gallup, but it seems to me, that in my country local (rural) people are usually mostly strongly against "restoration" of bogs. Those, who "restore" nature, are mostly younger people from cities, who think, that they invented the way the world should turn around, and their action makes world better place. They hardly ever return to the place, after they finish blocking ditches. But locals have to live with problems these restorers created, unless they move.
But the process is decided over local peoples heads.

Russia's invasion in Ukraine proved that tanks using roads doesn't work well: long convoys get held up if just one vehicle is bombed, as the rest can't get past it. They are then sitting ducks for further targetting.

This forum isn't a proper place to discuss military tactics. Tanks are not performing well in the Ukrainian stepps too, they are almost like sitting ducks for drone attacks. Russian initial invasion was meant to be as delicate (as few clashes) as possible. They thought their convoys are intimidating enough to make Maidan junta to surrender and to spare Ukrainian lives. But they underestimated Western hatred towards Russia. Volunteer troops all over the Europe rushed in with modern anti tank weapons (Javelins) provided by Western governments. And destroyed Russian convoys at the suburbs of Kiev.
I just suggest you to take a look at the Finnish map. There are no large fields or deserts (like it was in Syria or Iraq) on Finnish eastern border, but bogs and lakes with strips of forests between these. Tanks are very limited there in their maneuverability.
