Well, it is what lies in our future: http://thebeephotographer.photoshelter.com/gallery/Hand-Pollination-in-China/G0000M46TBQX4Odc/

Unfortunately it is not only bees, it applies to the whole class of living organisms - insects, that are being destroyed by the combination of human ignorance, arrogance and greed.

"Humanity doesn't need a moon base or a manned trip to Mars. We need an expedition to planet Earth, were probably fewer than 10 percent of species are known to science, and fewer than 1 percent of those have been studied beyond a simple anatomical description and a few notes on natural history. At the same time, we are engaged in a genocide against those species, known and unknown; the sixth mass extinction has begun” - E. O. Wilson "The Creation".

We consider ourselves the superior species, but we have less brains than a frog who, after all, doesn't drink up the pond in which he lives.

Indeed, it is a sad state of affair when human fabrications are put before life itself.
