What's my name?

    Any ideas on what this bug is? Yes, I know it looks like a sliver of wood, but it's an insect, no doubt.

    Grasshopper, may be. How big is it?

    No, it ain't a grasshopper. It's about 15-18 mm.

    Hi.
    I asked a question about this a number of years ago and I think it was Daniel who said that he thought it was a crystallise case of some type. Mine were attached by the end to pots and wood etc and were definitely not alive.
    Would be interested to find out more as they appear each year.
