@Mani, trouble is the Greens will not tackle the over population problem that is at the root cause of our sickly planet. 8 billion and counting is unsustainable.
Totally agree with your comment Mani ," if it can be healed". But let's be positive.
Keep cool today if you can in the big city Mani.

Just hit 35° C in my garden, not a cloud in sight, weather forecast has just warned of thunder and lightning for my area. Don't they ever take a look outside. If the computer says it is happening, then that's all that matters apparently!!!! Reminds me of a sketch, when the answer to every question put to the person, the reply was 'THE COMPUTER SAYS NO'.

@Mani, so you have watched the sketch Mani? Think it was the Fast show!!??
34 ° C , you are right, the humidity is making it very uncomfortable.

But think of poor N @Nik with 94 % humidity and J @zfrittz with 45 ° C and M @monicasanchez with very high 30's regularly. Tropical storms for D @LoverOfMaples. Droughts for @AlainK and @emery. We don't do too bad here in the UK , but we Brits do like to complain about the weather, lol.
At least M @ROEBUK has probably taken his cardigan off by now in West Yorkshire, well possibly !!!
Let's blow all this heat to @Sulev, he could do with some warm weather.

    A relatively cool 46 C here!

Either my thermometer is wrong or these weather websites are highly inaccurate!

Accuweather saying it's 33 C in my area now!

Weather stations are measuring the air temperature in the shade, actually in a instrument shelter Stevenson screen - Wikipedia
And at certain height from the ground. It is normal, that the temperature under direct sunlight and close to exposed surfaces can be much higer.

@Mani, air temperature and ground or road temps are very different. Just placed thermometer by one of my trees in the sun and it came up as 48°.

And it seems to work :)
Previous prognosis predicted gradual drop of highs and lows, now the highs are starting to climb again.

The real feel is also for the shadow. It should be regular air temperature, that is adjusted according to the wind effect.

The heat advisory is say 95-102 today. I've been moving most of my potted plants to shaded areas. I've also been trying to keep up with watering in this crazy heat and my crazy work schedule.

I was hoping to get some rain from the storm last week but no luck there. Just some damage, lots of debris to clean up and 4 days without power.

I'm not going to complain about the heat because it will be freezing soon and I hate the cold. We only get heat from mid to end of Jun thru the end of Aug. But will complain about NO @#&* RAIN. Please excuse my language.

But you wait when it's cold, we Brits will start complaining about that !! Its what we do this side of the pond lol.
Glad your damage wasn't too bad D and you and your family are all OK. Our thoughts were definatly with you.

Well that was the most difficult nights sleep I think I've ever had. And that's from someone tha worked nights and tried to sleep during hot Summer days. Our house never got below 30 ° C last night.
Anyway, gave up and sat in the garden from 2 am to look out for the meteor shower that was supposed to be happening. But nothing seen, probably the light pollution in our area put paid to that.
Forecast today is for violent thunderstorms from 3pm along with 31° C, so that should be interesting. No rain though.
Hope to get a few photos when it comes ????

Hard to see the Perseids here, too hazy, (and buggy) even though the sky is very dark. Sorry to hear you had a bad night D, it's awfully humid to go along with the temperatures.

I had an errand in an un-airconditioned store yesterday, it was 36C and very uncomfortable in the mask, but c'est la vie. About 32C at the farm. Then Adele went out later and was caught in a major downpour. This turned into spots of big thunder storms literally all around us, very heavy according to the radar about 20km west, north, a little east. We never saw a drop. How about you @AlainK , did you get any moisture?

Hopes up again today, but also aware of being careful what we wish for: strong summer storms can get very violent up here on the crest, we've lost quite a few trees this way.
