WOW: Attack of the Giant African Snails! Seriously, watch this video. These things have numerous host plants they like and they even eat stucko of a home's walls. Real Spooky, I never knew such snails existed. Can you imagine if France had been the one to colonize South Africa instead of Great Britain ? Apparently snails cannot stand caffeine. Spreading spent tea leaves or coffee grounds prevent snail infestation. Direct spraying of coffee/tea infusion kills them. Caffeine was quite effective in my garden in South India in keeping snails (the common or garden variety, shall we say?) under control.
